I respectfully ask for your vote for Loudon County School Board.  Election day is August 7, 2008.  I believe that education in Loudon County has not been given the priority that it should.  This election is about our children!

 

My Commitment

·        Bring real leadership and fiscal accountability (key to success) to the School Board

·        Encourage community input because I have faith in parents and teachers of Loudon County and that together, we can make the best decisions for the children and the community

·        Work diligently with the new Superintendent to improve education in our county

·        Continue to be active in our schools to witness first hand successes and challenges faced by children and teachers

What I Am Doing About It

·        Volunteer at Loudon Elementary School for the past 3 years, as it is where my daughter attends school

·        Serve as the President of the Loudon Elementary School Parent-Teacher Organization (2 years); Coordinated & Volunteer For Weekly Popcorn fundraiser, Winter Carnival Volunteer, Book Fair Volunteer

·        Volunteer with the Girl Scouts

·        Review current practices of the Loudon County School System to see where we can achieve improvements (specifically fiscal accountability)

·        Actively share my ideas at school board and county commission meetings

·        Converse with parents; hear concerns at neighborhood meetings and answer questions via a website: LoudonCountySchoolSolutions.blogspot.com

·        Following up on Work Orders that are marked no action and closed

·        Member of Loudon County Graduation Rate Taskforce

 

 

Other work experience:  My husband and I successfully manage our own business.  I intend to bring my financial expertise and good management practices to board decisions in an effort to ensure the best outcome for education.  I have 12 years experience with major insurance companies.  Most rewarding positions include corporate training and team leader of regional management center.
