Voters to decide fate of Lenoir City Charter

Qualified voters residing in the incorporated area of Lenoir City will be asked two ballot questions concerning two possible changes to Lenoir City's Charter. Early voting continues until Saturday at noon.
Question 1 Charter Amendment - To change the position of Recorder from a popularly elected position with a 4-year term to a position appointed by and serving at the pleasure of City Council.

Question 2 Charter Amendment - Allows the passage of Ordinances in emergencies affecting the health, safety, and welfare of citizens without the normal minimum of seven days between readings.
