WHAT'S NEXT?

March 25, 2011 was the last day to accept applications, sixteen (16) candidates applied for Loudon County Director of Schools. Two candidates that applied for the job are employees of the Loudon County Board of Education including Jason Vance, assistant school director, and Tim Berry, principal of North Middle School.  Click to see 16 APPLY- FINAL LIST OF CANDIDATES 

A Special Called Workshop meeting is scheduled for April 4, 2011 at 6:00 PM; same time as the Loudon County Commission meeting.  TSBA deputy director/legal counsel Randy Bennett will be in attendance. At Monday's called workshop meeting, Randy Bennett will present the TSBA screening committee  recommendation of 4 or 5 candidates to the school board. At a workshop meeting, school board members may discuss but may not deliberate or take action. But, the school board will have the final say at it's Thursday's April 7th Special Called Meeting. From the onset, the school board requested to see all names and information of candidates (public records). The Loudon County Board of Education has scheduled numerous meetings for April concerning the school director's search. Please check below for meeting locations, schedules, and agendas.

Date: Thursday April 07, 2011

Place: LCTC - Immediately following regular School Board Workshop

Purpose: To address Director Search Interview Items. 

LCBOE Meeting Director of Schools Interviews  - Agenda

Time: 9:00 A.M.

Date: Friday, April 15, 2011

Place: Courthouse Annex

Purpose: Interview candidates for school director.
