6 Key Issues & Votes
Accountability - Transparency - Fiscal Responsibility

The Loudon County Board of Education is comprised of a ten member body located with seven districts. There are nine schools within the Loudon County School system. When electing people to the School Board, districts with odd numbers run every 4-year term and then districts with even numbers run every 4-years. Districts 1, 3, 5, 7 ran in 2008; Districts 2, 4, 6 will run in 2010. Lenoir City Schools has their own school district with 3 schools, elementary, middle and high school and because Loudon County students attend Lenoir City High School, Loudon County must pay Lenoir City a percentage for students that attend school there.
In early August 2008, letters were sent to parents about two schools with failing marks, Ft. Loudon Middle School with failing match scores and Greenback with its graduation rate. Improvement is needed, so what's the plan to improve math scores and encourage students to finish school?
The State of Tennessee's Education Grade Cards are now out. Here's the latest school grade card information in a format that's easy to understand, compliments of Sarah Daily with the Loudon County Schools Solutions Blog.
